Amazon Explosive PD65w 110W Desktop Charger: 5-Port USB Hub with Wireless and Fast Charge for UK Plugs

Managing multiple device chargers for laptops, phones, and tablets often leads to a tangled mess of cables and occupied power sockets. The Amazon Explosive PD65w charger addresses this by functioning as a centralised desktop power station. It draws power from a single UK mains socket and distributes it across five distinct charging outputs with a combined capacity of 110 watts. This unit is specifically supplied with a British plug, making it ready for immediate use in homes and offices across the UK. It integrates modern charging technologies, including a Qi wireless charging pad and a dedicated Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 port, alongside standard USB-A ports, offering a versatile solution for simultaneous charging of a mixed ecosystem of gadgets.

Features and Construction

The PD65w charger is built around delivering high total output power through multiple dedicated channels. Its design focuses on practicality, consolidating several charging functions into one compact unit that measures 15.8 by 11.3 by 5.4 centimetres and weighs 0.53 kilograms including its packaging. The construction houses the necessary power conversion circuitry to safely manage the input and distribute the specified outputs across its ports.

Material and Build

The charger is constructed from plastics and electronic components typical for this category of power accessory. The build incorporates internal safety circuits to handle the conversion from the wide 100–240V AC input down to the stable DC voltages required for USB charging. The inclusion of specific output ratings for each port, as listed in the technical specifications, indicates a designed allocation of the available 110 watts of total power, which helps prevent overload when multiple devices are connected.

Size and Practical Fit

With dimensions of 15.8 x 11.3 x 5.4 cm, the charger has a desktop-friendly footprint, suitable for placement on a bedside table, office desk, or kitchen counter without occupying excessive space. Its 0.53 kg weight provides enough heft to stay in place when plugging and unplugging cables. The physical size accommodates the five output ports and the integrated wireless charging surface, which is designed for placing a compatible phone or earbuds case centrally for efficient power transfer.

Uses and Placement

This multi-port charger is designed for environments where several personal electronic devices need regular charging. Its 110W total output supports powering a combination of phones, tablets, wireless earbuds, smartwatches, and even some laptops that charge via USB-C, all from one wall outlet. The specific plug style supplied is the British standard, aligning it directly with UK home and office infrastructure.

Event or Professional Use

In professional or event settings, such as a conference room, hotel lobby, or co-working space, a single PD65w unit can serve as a communal charging station for guests or colleagues. The ability to charge up to five devices simultaneously, including via wireless for convenience, reduces the need for individuals to search for separate sockets. The wide 100-240V input range also means it can be used internationally if paired with a simple plug adapter, adding to its utility for travellers with the appropriate plug variant.

Everyday Home Use

For everyday home use, it eliminates the clutter of multiple individual chargers on a nightstand or desk. A family can use it to charge several phones overnight, with one member perhaps using the wireless pad while another uses the fast-charge QC3.0 port. It can also keep a tablet and a pair of wireless headphones topped up during the day. Its design helps organise charging cables in one central, accessible location.

Benefits and Buying Value

The primary value of the Amazon Explosive PD65w charger lies in its consolidation of charging functions and its high total power output. It replaces the need for several separate charger blocks, saving socket space and reducing cable mess. The inclusion of both wireless and fast-charge technologies in one unit offers future-proofing and convenience, catering to newer devices without sacrificing support for older ones via the standard USB ports.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

As a durable desktop accessory, the charger is designed for long-term reuse. There are no consumable parts, and its solid-state construction typically requires no maintenance beyond keeping the ports free of dust and debris. Its versatile port selection means it will remain useful even as you upgrade individual devices, as it supports both legacy and modern charging standards.

Why Choose This Product

Choose this product if you need a high-power, multi-port charging solution with a UK plug that includes wireless charging capability. Its 110W total output and specific port configuration, including the 18W QC3.0 fast-charge port and 10W wireless pad, provide a technical advantage over simpler, lower-power multi-port hubs. The confirmed specifications for output current and voltage per port offer transparency about its capabilities, ensuring you can match your devices' requirements to the correct port for optimal charging speed.
